Colossians 3:23-25: “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.” The admonition to work hard as though one was working for God, and not people, applies to employees. The strong motivation to serve someone well is found in the future reward that Christ gives to those who are faithful in this service. We normally think (some of us not all) we receive eternal rewards for spiritual practices like reading the bible, prayer, or evangelism. In this passage Paul asserts that all work done to the honor of Christ will bring an eternal reward.

DISCOUNT MONEY – “Never count success by money gained. That is not the mind of My Kingdom. Your success is the measure of My Will and Mind that you have revealed to those around you. Your success is the measure of My Will that those around you have seen worked out in your lives.”

2 John 9,10: “Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do  not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his  evil deeds.”  Departure from Christ into doctrinal error indicates that a person does not have God.  Love for God means supporting the truth and rejecting those who stand against it.  “This doctrine” refers to the Christian belief that Jesus is God come “in the flesh.”  He is completely human and completely divine.  A Christian should not only refuse to receive false teachers in the sense of supporting them while they visit the community, a Christian should also avoid appearing to endorse their teachings.  The proper response to deceivers is to reject them as unbelievers. This shows how seriously we should take the Scriptures and how careful we should be in evaluating the teachings of everyone.

HILL OF SACRIFICE – “You must trust to the end. You must be ready to go on trusting to the last hour.  You must know even when you cannot see…You must be ready, like My
servant Abraham, to climb the very Hill of Sacrifice, to go to the very last moment, before you see My Deliverance. This final test has to come to all who walk by Faith.  You
must rely on Me alone.  Look to no other arm; look for no other  help.  Trust in the Spirit Forces of the Unseen, not in those you see. Trust and fear not.”

Psalm 93:1,2 – “The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength, surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved. Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.” The LORD reigns is the key of the royal psalms. The language “girded Himself with strength” describes the victor of one-on-one combat. God is dressed in the garments of victory. This is a celebration of God as the Creator. There is no power on earth or in the universe that can wrench control of the earth from God, the rule of God is from antiquity. The living God is eternal.

YOU ARE MY JOY – John 17:6 – “Thine they were and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.” “Remember, that just as you thank God for Me, so I thank God for His Gift to Me of you. In that hour of My agony on Earth, one note of Joy thrilled through the pain. The thought of the souls, given me by My Father, who had kept My Word. They had not then done great deeds, as they did later, for, and in, My Name. They were simple doers of My Word, not hearers only. Just in their daily tasks and ways they kept My Word. You, too, can bring Joy to My Heart by faithful service. Faithful service in the little things. Be faithful. Do your simple tasks for Me.”

Jesus taught His flock many parables. In this particular one He
is speaking to His disciples in Matthew 13:44: “Again, the kingdom of
heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid;
and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” The parables concern kingdom values and responsibilities. They are especially directed at believers. In this parable a man stumbles across a treasure trove, which he makes every effort to obtain. The central truth being taught is the immense value of the kingdom, which far outweighs any sacrifice or inconvenience one might encounter on earth. Have a BLESSED weekend brothers and sisters – live life, enjoy what the Lord has given you – we never know when it will all end.
