Proverbs 29: 15, 17 – “The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother..Correct your son, and he will give you rest; yes, he will give delight to your soul.”
The words rod and rebuke both speak of correction or discipline. An undisciplined child shames everyone, especially his or her parents. The burden of correction is on the parents. I have two wonderful children and 2 wonderful grand-kids. I can testify to this scripture through life’s experience. Now you know where the saying comes from: “Spare the rod – spoil the child.” Have a super weekend!!!
