Luke 5: 29-32: “Then Levi gave Him a great feast in his own house. And there were a great number of tax collectors and others who sat down with them. And the scribes and Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying ‘Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?’ Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.'” Back in the day the issue of eating with sinners was sensitive in Judaism since some believed eating with such company conveyed acceptance of that person’s sins. Jesus was not saying that the Pharisees and scribes had no need of spiritual healing. Instead He was saying that only those who know their spiritual need can be treated. As self-righteous people the scribes and Pharisees, in their own eyes, did not need a doctor. Jesus’ mission, as is ours, was to call sinners to repentance. A humble approach to God for spiritual healing is the essence of repentance.

Psalm 3: 1-4: “LORD, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are they who say of me, ‘there is no help for him in God.’ But you, O LORD, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the LORD with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill.” God’s sustaining power provides “rest” for the weary Christian. When God is one’s protector, there is no need to fear. Have a great weekend my friends – love one another and appreciate your family. I’ll be offline for a few days – Blessings to all who read theWord!

Hebrews 10: 26, 27: ” For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.” The reference here is not to an occasional act of sin (which can be confessed and forgiven) but to a conscious rejection of God. To sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of truth is apostasy. If a Christian rejects God’s provision for his or her salvation, there is no other remedy for sins, since forgiveness of sins can only be found in Christ’s perfect sacrifice. With no hope of forgiveness, all that one can expect is judgment. Those who choose to disobey God become His adversaries.

Psalm 31: 1,2 – “In You, O LORD, I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in Your righteousness. Bow down Your ear to me, deliver me speedily; be my rock of refuge, a fortress of defense to save me.” Nuff said,,,Praise be to Jehovah!

Philippians 3:17-21: “Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.
For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping that enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is their shame – who set their mind on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.” Christians ( all of us) need to remember that though we are in the world, we are not “off” this world; our ultimate citizenship is in heaven. the eager desire for Christians is not earthly things, but a heavenly person, the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We want to thank Lance Williams for our scripture today:
Isaiah 42:10 – “Sing to the LORD, a new song. And His praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it. You coastlands and you inhabitants of them!” The command here is for all people to sing. God will be given the honor and praise He is due from all the world! Looks like a wet weekend for us in Mississippi. A good time to hang with family and friends. Blessings for a lovely weekend!!!

2 Peter 3: 8, 9 -” But, beloved, do not forget this one thing., that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” God will surely accomplish His purposes and promises, even though it may appear that He is slow in doing so. His timing is always PERFECT. The delay of God’s judgment is not due to slackness, but to the Lord’s long-suffering attitude toward His people, all people – black, white, red, yellow – we are all His people and He is not willing for any to perish.
