theWord: Hebrews 10: 26, 27 – “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.” The reference here is not to an occasional act of sin (which can be confessed and forgiven) but to a conscious rejection of God. If a Christian rejects God’s provision for his or her salvation, there is no other remedy for sins, since forgiveness of sins can only be found in Christ’s perfect sacrifice.
