The apostle Peter and the disciples were collected by the captain of the guard along with his officers and brought before the governing body of the time in Jerusalem, for preaching and teaching about Jesus Christ publicly. Acts 5:27-29: “And when they brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, saying, ‘Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!’ But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: ‘We ought to obey God rather than men.'” This happened around 60 A.D. Here we are 1,955 years later fighting the same fight. Our government has turned it’s back on God, our schools are being forced to turn their back on the LORD. It is up to us, as individual Christians, to keep this fight alive – daily – in every aspect of our lives. Jesus Christ will be preached!
