The apostle Paul provides some good advice to start the week in Romans 12: 17, 18 – “Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.” A Christian should not concentrate on the evil in others, but instead focus on what is good.

When we have those troubled times we all face, remember this advice from Psalm 145: 18, 19 – “The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; he also will hear their cry and save them.” Be safe and have an excellent weekend brothers and sisters and thanks for sharing theWord with Caroline and I.

Jesus is talking about being a servant in Matthew 20:27, 28 – “And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” I was in prayer last night about the scripture for today when this thought came to me: ‘Think about how you can serve the LORD. Not how He can serve you.’

Jesus is talking with His disciples in John 14: 16, 17 – “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.” The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of truth because He is truth and guides us into all truth. ‘Neither sees Him nor knows Him’ does not mean simply that the world is not able to visually identify the Holy Spirit because He is spirit. Something more is meant: The Spirit of God is active in the world, but His acts go unnoticed by the world. Aren’t you glad we have the Holy Spirit in us and know it!

Romans 8:28 – “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” God, the sovereign ruler of this universe, is in control of our lives. Don’t make the mistake of thinking He isn’t, simply because He does not operate according to our will and schedule. If you read your Bible and meditate on it, you will find genuine strength in His promises.

1 Corinthians 1:18 – “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” The gospel penetrates to the core of self-centeredness. For those who exalt self, the message sounds absurd. But for those of us who bow humbly in faith, it becomes the power that is able to snatch us from death and impart eternal life.

God is speaking in the book of Psalms 50: 22,23 – “Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver: whoever offers praise glorifies Me; and to him who orders his conduct aright I will show the salvation of God.” The LORD offers an opportunity to repent and receive forgiveness. This is an indicator of His grace. The LORD wants to save; His warnings are another example of His mercy. It’s the weekend – enjoy!!!!!!
