Proverbs 3: 11, 12 – “My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor detest His correction; for whom the LORD loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.” The discipline of the Lord is the other side of His grace. We should cherish God’s correction in our lives, because God disciplines those He loves.

Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” God has a purpose and plan for our lives, and His timing is perfect. Sometimes He answers our prayers with “yes” or “no.” But at other times, He says “not now”–when that is the case, we can avail ourselves of the rich rewards that come when we wait.

Faith is everything in our walk with God and His Son Jesus Christ. Hebrews 11:6 – “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” To all our brothers and sisters Caroline and I wish you a lovely weekend!

The apostle Paul sheds some light on “faith” in Romans 1:16, 17: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also the for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.'”

For those of us who are facing troubled times be reassured by Psalm 57: 1,2 – ” Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make a refuge, until these calamities have passed by.”

Jesus speaks with a woman from Samaria in John 4: 23, 24 – “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” God is not limited by time and space. When people are born “of the spirit” they can commune with God anywhere.

Proverbs 29: 18 – “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but happy is he who keeps the law.” The Hebrew word for revelation speaks of revelatory vision, a word from God. Without God’s revelation of the Law, people flounder. True happiness is discovered within the constraints of revelation, in the council of the Savior.
