Jesus was staying in the city of Bethany talking with His disciples when he speaks these words in Matthew 21: 22 – “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Jesus’ point to His disciples – faith works miracles and is the basis for answered prayer. I have seen it work in my life – on my hands – CUMC and Connection prayed me to full recovery! AMEN.

The apostle Paul explains salvation in 1 Timothy 2: 3-6: ” For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time.” Plainly spoken, God extends the offer of salvation to all. Christ dies for the sins of all, but only those who believe receive the benefits of that sacrifice!

Have a great weekend my friends and hear the Father speak in Isaiah: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” God’s gracious thoughts exceed all human imagination!

King Solomon declares the value of a good wife in Proverbs 31: 10-12: “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts her; so he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life.” I will say I am very blessed to have a wife like this – my soul mate Caroline.

Paul writes in 2 Timothy 2:15, 16 – “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.”

The Apostle Paul describes our savior Jesus Christ in Colossians 1: 15-18: “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”

Jesus is talking to a crowd of people in Bethesda when he tells them in John 5: 24 – “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” The issue in this passage is the unity of the Father and the Son. All who believe in the One who sent Christ will believe in Christ. A judgment to decide a person’s eternal destiny is no longer possible for the one who has already been given eternal life. However, all believers will stand before the judgment seat of Christ, not for punishment of sin; but to determine inheritance in Messiah’s kingdom.
