Habakkuk 3: 19 – “The LORD GOD is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.” God will strengthen those who trust in Him. He will give those who live by faith the same confidence that a sure-footed deer has in climbing mountains. Like a victorious army, the righteous with God’s strength will occupy the high hills. Make 2015 the year you embrace God’s strength, to new heights in your life!

King David offers some excellent wisdom in Psalm 5: 1, 2, 3 – ” Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, my King and my God. For to you I pray in the morning O LORD; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.” Morning prayer is an excellent way to start the day, it helps a person to dedicate all the activities of the day to the glory of God.

theWord: John 1: 1-5: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” Brothers and sisters, the Word was God. The word order in Greek shows that the Word was God not “a god.” This is a straightforward declaration of Christ’s deity, since John uses Word to refer to Jesus. The Word was of the very quality of God, while still retaining His personal distinction from the Father. Now you see why I call this daily bible study “theWord.” Have a blessed Christmas from Caroline and I. We will be offline until December 30th. Be safe in your travels and remember to keep our Lord and savior Jesus Christ in your Christmas.

theWord: King David offers a simple but important truth for our Christian walk in Psalm 28:14 – “Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the LORD!” God leaves nothing to chance. He does not place a decision before us with the hope that we’ll make the right choice. That would be irresponsible and out of character. The Father is more than willing to show His children what to do, because He is personally interested in their welfare. But until the Lord makes clear what is the way forward, we’ve got to pause and wait.

Jesus is talking with His disciples when He explains in Mark 8:38 – “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” Doesn’t sound like much has changed in the 2,000 years regarding our behavior patterns. We who will reign with Christ invest our lives in that which will last. We who are willing to confess Him today will be rewarded before the Father in heaven.

King David illustrates a basic principle of our God in Psalm 139:1-3: “O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.” God is active to search and test His servants. He knows our motives, desires, and words before they are expressed. WOW! Think about that…. the purpose of His intimate knowledge of His servants is protective and helpful, not judgmental or condemning. Have a super weekend all !

Sticking with the apostle Paul today our scripture comes from 2 Corinthians 1:21,22 – ” Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” Simply stated – God confirmed Paul and his fellow workers by anointing them. This anointing probably refers to special empowerment by the Holy Spirit. Sealing indicates ownership and security. The sealing and giving of the Holy Spirit are linked. The Holy Spirit is a guarantee, the down payment that there is more spiritual blessing to come and that the believer will receive eternal life.
