theWord

In this fast paced world of “we want it now and we get it now” our emotions and desires can lead to temptations beyond the realm of being faithful to the Creator. Jesus illustrates how the word of God in times of trouble save us from these pitfalls in Matthew. Jesus had fasted 40 days and nights when Satan came to tempt Jesus. Matthew 4: 3,4 – Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” There was nothing “morally” wrong about turning stones into bread; Satan was tempting Jesus to do a miracle outside of the Father’s will. Jesus quotes Deuteronomy 8:3. God is the One who sustains all life. It is our responsibility to trust God and remain in His will.
