Lady Caroline and I want to wish all our brothers and sisters a wonderful Thanksgiving day with your friends and family. We all have so much to be thankful for and give the praise and glory to our Father in heaven. King Solomon puts it nicely in Ecclesiastes 5: 18, 19 – “Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage. As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor – this is the gift of God.”

King David says it all in Psalm 117: ” Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!”

The apostle Paul offers spiritual wisdom in 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Since we, as Christians, are united with Jesus both in His death and resurrection, we participate in this new creation. That is, we receive the benefits of being restored to Christ. Our lives should change, because we are transformed into the likeness of Christ. Instead of living for ourselves, we live for Christ and we look at the world through the eyes of Christ.

In this fast paced world of “we want it now and we get it now” our emotions and desires can lead to temptations beyond the realm of being faithful to the Creator. Jesus illustrates how the word of God in times of trouble save us from these pitfalls in Matthew. Jesus had fasted 40 days and nights when Satan came to tempt Jesus. Matthew 4: 3,4 – Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the son of God, command that these stones become bread.” But He answered and said, “It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” There was nothing “morally” wrong about turning stones into bread; Satan was tempting Jesus to do a miracle outside of the Father’s will. Jesus quotes Deuteronomy 8:3. God is the One who sustains all life. It is our responsibility to trust God and remain in His will.

King David has some words of wisdom for us who are facing battles with other individuals whether it be at the day gig, family, or friends in Psalm 55: 17-19:
“Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice. He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, for there were many against me. God will hear, and afflict them, even He who abides from of old. Because they do not change, therefore they do not fear God.” I would like to give a big “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” shout out to my little sister Cyndi Boot´╗┐ on her special day – Love You Corinthian!! xoxo Brothers and sisters have a fantabulous weekend!

Jesus provides some keen insight in Luke 6:43-45: “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Simply put, actions, not words, indicate where one’s heart is.

The apostle John offers the ultimate wisdom in 1 John 4: 12, 15,16 – “No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us…Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” “Let love rule”…Lenny Kravitz´╗┐
