Temptation befalls us all, no matter the race, community standings or financial situation and James explains in James 1:12-15: “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted by God’; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire is conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”

Jesus states the essence of salvation in one sentence – Matthew 10: 32, 33: “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.”

Jesus on his way to Jerusalem tells his disciples in Mark 11: 25, 26 – “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

King David lays it all out in 2 Samuel 22: 2,3, 4 – “And he said: ‘The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; the God of my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”

Been in prayer about this one – hope it helps out, it’s a little longer than normal but necessary. James 1: 5, 6 – “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, ad it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts ia like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.” One reason we are so prone to doubt is that we fail to see God at work in our circumstances. We asked, and nothing happened. But the LORD is not some cosmic bellhop who jumps in response to our requests. He sees past, present, and future and knows the right time for every answer. His invisible hand is already at work on our behalf—arranging situations to accomplish His will, opening hearts, and preparing us to receive what He wants to give.
